Hi,

please stay with the current featureset and don't discuss new features.
Sure, zip would be nice, but has nothing to do with old/new EM

First, both are refactored php-wise. There are a lot of improvements
which are not visible, but important, like the new xml parsers.
Also Ext-Direct is much faster than reloading in old em.

Sure, ui is kind of taste. There are not much new features in new EM,
it's more an 1:1 coding of old feature set using tabs instead combo menu
etc.

I'm in favor of new one, but my motivation stopped after switching to
gerrit, where no patches were reviewed, before i had more chances to
finish the task. Also, for sure, manpower is a problem, there was noone
interested to help, and one-man-show is boring after a long time.

I see the need of simplify, and this could be done by reducing the
visable details. There are some tasks for extensions you always need
like db maintainance, update scripts etc. The features work much better
using rowexpander than using popups. There was the plan also to simplify
the installing, but there are some pitfalls like dependency loops etc,
which are also awful in old EM.

I would like to fix the last bugs if there is support with reviews, but
i'm also fine if most want old EM back, then i would go using an
extension for the new one. Anyways, new one is part of LTS and need the
support for the next 3 years, which was in my mind while coding it.

vg Steffen
