[TYPO3-mvc] Get Controllers settings in viewhelper

That would be a possiblity but would not work if the settings had not been passed to a partial and i invoke the viewhelper there.

So - the controllerContext i have has nothing to do with the controller instance that generated the view? And why is that so?

What is the renderingContext referencing to?

This whole process is pretty intransparent to me, why not simply reference the controllerInstance to the view and not splitting everything up, generating 2 new objects that i can not really use for anything? Argh, annoying :)
