Jens updated the installer screen after I told them that the current 4.3
status (new colors, old 1-2-3 image with wrong background) is
unexcusable for the final release. He sent me the screens over Skype
last week. They are similar to the existing Login Screen mockups which
he updated as well last week.

The login screen mockups are here:

The installer mockups I just uploaded here (it was basically the work
for the 1-2-3 installer). Sorry that I didn't share this before.

Personally, I think if we split up the tasks for working on the
installer (at least in v4), then it is doable and it's not just the work
from one guy and it's easier to have teamwork going.

The sequentially steps (just quickly sketched here) would be:

  * Make the installer templateable in the first steps (where possible)
  * Include Fluid as a templating engine
  * Include Extbase as a MVC framework (probably v4.4)

I think after that, it's possible to see what you guys did with v5 (in
terms of concepts in the installer) that it's not such a pain to deal
with that.

"Development on hold". I don't think I have more information on this
than you have. Shame on me, I never had a look at the code of the
Thomas' installer, let's see what we can re-use from that.

Btw, Robert: I'd be also very interesting what your ideas for the new
"Package Manager" are, maybe we can get some ideas from you when
somebody starts working on redoing the extension manager module in the
v4 backend.

All the best.
Benni.
