tt_news uses a typoscript case object to add itself to tt_content

check your typoscript with typoscript object browser at
tt_content.list.20.9

add the following line for each layout option you wanna use:
tt_content.list.20.9.1 < plugin.tt_news # Layout Option 1
tt_content.list.20.9.2 < plugin.tt_news # Layout Option 2
