[TYPO3-ttnews] Larger image not working

We are getting a 404 error when clicking to enlarge an image. The system has

tt_news 2.5.0
TYPO3 4.1.9
realURL 1.5.1

I see within the link that the URL is malformed. Where we have:

...onclick="openPic('http://www.XXX.comindex.php?eID=tx_cms_showpic&file=uploads%2F...

we should have:
...onclick="openPic('http://www.XXX.com/index.php?eID=tx_cms_showpic&file=uploads%2F...

Is this a realURL issue? Can someone give me a hint where I should look 
to find the problem?
