[TYPO3-ttnews] how to define target fot NEWs links

I want to define target for tt_news link  which is appering through use 
of Marker  ###NEWS_LINK### in the news template in the latest view.

I want to define target to "target" but i am not able to even insert  
the target.

I used :-

    pageTypoLink.target >
    pageTypoLink.target = _top

but it does not work. I have gone through the documentation of tt_news 
but didn't find anything for news links.

Even described the constant in the TS template
    PAGE_TARGET = "page"

But no results.
