You need to also setup a page which holds the news plugin with the
single view. In the list-view you have to setup the link to the single
view page or set the single view pid up in constant editor of your template.

PageId for single news display:

This tells the extension on which page the single view is located. It's
not required to set a value here, cause it's more efficient to set a
global value for the single view (singlePid) in the constant-Editor of
your root template. See: “Configuration”
