[TYPO3-ttnews] Problems when assigning categories to news RC1/tt_news 2.2.40

I have some problems in assigning news to categories with tt_news v.2.2.40
and typo3 4 RC1.

When creating a news CE, i can select a category from the list as intended,
but after saving I found no category assigned to the news.

I have another typo3 4 test environment, very similar to this one (RC1,
tt_news 2.2.40 and Templavoila) and everything works as intended.

I hav eno idea what the problem could be. Any ideas?
