[TYPO3-seminars] free use of form fields

Hello out there!

Is it possible to use the form fields directly in the templates?
For example I want to use in my confirmation message in the following way:

Dear {first_name} {last_name},

thank you for registering to:
Course: {title}
Place: {place}
...
===

As far as I understand the templates, I can only use predefined blocks. Is that right?
