Hello,

that's the current state of the refactoring:
Tasks that are done:

 - Parts of refactoring
   - New Installer
   - New Config Object
   - New Extmgm helper class
   - ...
 - class ext_update.php
   - run steps from the install directly from the update script and
     unhide some magick ;)
   - options to configure / update / patch / truncate piwik


There is still a lot to do ;) - but it's going on.
The next steps will have some visual effect.
I'm working on the new Backendmodule. See an Revision newer than #36982
on forge to get the changes.
