But you never told the ***BACKEND*** that there is a view named List!

You need to add the required TSconfig in the page properties of a root page 
in the backend.
Your ***FRONTEND*** configuration has nothing to do with this. You frontend 
configuration just tells the plugin how the selected view should be used.
