Hello everybody,

just a few minutes ago I joined this list.

First, I'd like to introduce myself in short words. Second, I've a few
questions to the list members.

"moose" is my typo3.org and forge.typo3.org nickname and more
informations about me can be found here:

Well, a few days ago I had some mail exchange with François Suter about
contributing to TYPO3, especially to the documentation project.
François recommended to setup my own contribution environment as
described here:

http://wiki.typo3.org/Contributing_to_the_documentation#TYPO3_Official_Manuals

Among others this page refers to

http://wiki.typo3.org/Contribution_Walkthrough_Tutorials

Do I understand it right, i.e. do I first have to setup a git clone and
fill it with last recent documentation(s) (recommended by François) I'd
like to contribute to and second I've to choose one the three editors
mentioned there, i.e.

 - TortoiseGit on Windows
 - PhpStorm
 - EGit in Eclipse

If I'm right, I think I'd best clone the git to a special (reserved)
"development" Linux VM on my ESXi and then connect to it by one of the
three editors mentioned above from my workplace. Right?

Can you recommend one of these three editors? Well, I know, choosing an
editor is a very personal issue. Mostly, I'm working with a UNIX shell
and if needed or required with Win 7. A MacBookPro is also available and
GNOME3 or XFCE too.

In former times I worked with Eclipse on a JAVA project, but may be
TortoiseGit or PhpStorm are more handy. What do you think?

Have a nice weekend everybody and thanks for your hints in advance!

Greetinx
