No, not really. 'pandoc' turned lists on the input side into simple
'paragraphs' on output and so on.

Maybe you missed the "What is this?" text below the file listing on
that page.

In summary:

If you save an OpenOffice document as HTML this may be a good - and
more human friendly - starting point as well because OO seems to fill
in all the structural and style information of the document.

I'm giving up on 'pandoc'. See the link for some reasons.
