All great and relevant suggestions.

An addition is the poor page numbering system.

Clearly these docs will get tweaked but updating the page numbers is often
missed and a mess.

Why worry about them. Every section you would normally include a page number
for just include the paragraph id instead.

This system is used on many tax law and other major publications the world
over.

The idea could be integrated with other TYPO3 documents so that
consecutively they provide a starting point and end point for one long
journey of TYPO3 discovery with 'Getting Started' at the beginning and
ending with the many extension documents.

This would allow a single point of reference for all the documents, ie the
section on HMENU from TSREF would be simply 010.8.0.11

010 being the consecutive document number in this case referring to TSREF
and 8.0.11 being the section number taken from the online TSREF manual.

This system will end the troubles with url references as you can just search
for that reference.

Furthermore it allows you a quick reference from the printed to the online
so you can see if people have added any helpful comments that did not make
it to the docs.
