You're right, the shortcut can link anywhere. This is better, although not
perfect:

Shortcut is a link from one page to another page in the
page tree. This is often used to make it possible that the subpage,
to which the link points, will be shown as soon as a user
browses to the page which is linked. One can use it to have multiple
pages pointing to the same page, too.

For the last sentence, it probably makes sense to refer to "mount pages",
too.
