[TYPO3-dam] DAM - dl-file name reset: bug or feature?

hi list

when i change an already existing and saved "file name" in DAM (vers. 
1.2.4) the already entered and saved "download file name" is changed 
also and becomes identical to the newly entered "file name".
is this a bug or a feature?
is there a possibility to prevent DAM from doing so?
