[TYPO3-dam] Media link on pictures

Hi,

I would like to revive this topic, because I don't understand really 
what the linkhandler can do for me in this situation. I will allow me to 
link to a media record item, but does someone have an example how a 
configuration for DAM would look like? Can I get the tree somehow?

Or is there any other example out there how to handle links on images 
with DAM? I mean this is a quite common usecase, isn't it?
