[TYPO3-dam] What to do with DAM services

Hi François

I fully agree with you that DAM team should maintain these extensions. We needed to create own patches (i.e. to prevent filenames from being shortened after a colon)...

Michiel replied to a bug report (http://bugs.typo3.org/view.php?id=8287) more than a year ago:

We have plans to 'rename' the extensions to sv_something for all the extraction services. That may give an opportunity for the patches to be applied to the new extension.

But they obviously didn't have time to do it.
