[TYPO3-dam] Problems since updating the new DAM-version 1.1.3 (with Typo3 4.3.0)

I believe this might be a bug... It could have been introduced when RFC 
#9830: Not responing queries using category selections was committed.

Can you undo that patch, and see if it fixes the problem?
