[TYPO3-dam] DAM Selections not showing in eco_gal

I've upgraded a site to TYPO3 4.1, and created some selections of images to use as albums. However when creating a page with DAM Photo Gallery (eco-gal) the selections do not show up as items in the source selection window. 

When creating articles using the RTE I am able to navigate through the original user_upload section to insert images. 

Can someone suggest some troubleshooting hints?
