[TYPO3-dam] downloading images as download action

Hi List,


I am using DAM and dam downloads for generating image libraries where  
people can download images.
The only problem is that when they click on the download link of an  
image, a new window opens and the image is displayed. because this is  
standard browser functionality

I would like to make it in a way that when they click on the download  
link, the image is downloaded in the background, this is far more  
user friendly.
Anyone have an idea how to do this?
