yes, no access to the media-sysfolder is one of the main reasons why normal
users can't access the dam-records. This was driving me crazy once when I
had this problem for the first time...

To my mind, this is clearly a bug to be solved in DAM 1.1 - the
media-sysfolder should be hidden away from normal users. The DAM-BE-modules
are the main (and only) place to edit DAM-records, so why should anybody
who's not admin be able to see them in the normal list-view?
