[TYPO3-dam] File upload error

Hi all,

I have installed the DAM on two different sites/servers and am having 
problems with one, where I can't upload files larger than about 1K.

Available disk space is 2.5GB, so that should be enough :-)
PHP is version 5.1.4 and max_upload_filesize is 16MB
TYPO3 is version 4.0.2 and [BE][maxFileSize] is 10MB
DAM version is 1.0.5

There's no PHP error nor warning, the directory I want to upload into 
has the proper rights (I even set them to 777 to make sure).

When trying to upload the DAM says:
