[TYPO3-dam] metadata from digital files

Hi list,

I am just wondering what the possibilities are for metadata included in 
a file.
We are looking for a way to transfer certain metadata that is included 
in files like comments, creator, etc.

I noticed that Photoshop is using XMP to include xml metadata. Is this 
a standard, or do we have to use another way of inserting this data.
