You are sort of right. Many people asked for the t3board.com extensions, 
here they are, but in alpha phase including no documentation ;) There will 
be an updated version with some more functionality, maybe even with 
documentation in a couple of weeks. But I do not promise any timetables, as 
this is seriously project related work, and I am currently working on 
plugin-things within the framework to cooperate with other extensions in 
some different way etc., so this has higher priority.

But anyway, the base functionality... It's working for you if I understood 
you right :) And if you have a look at the TS, you can control most of the 
things. Hint: If you want to plain-display field content, use 
###FIELD_myfieldname### as marker. If you want to get it processed somehow, 
you still have to do very little changes in dd_dam_gallery, but this will 
also be changed as well. it's on the todo list somewhere.
