ok, it /would/ be a great one. I dont see at the moment how you want to
generate all of that code though for the different possibilities...

it is in 99% not necessary anyways to use tabular layout. as stated
earlier the only problem is when it comes to 3+ cols _plus_ 2+ rows
_plus_ captiontext in the upper row which is wider than the width of the
image so it linebreaks into a second line (or third or fourth).
thats /almost/ never happening. not in a contentelement.
