I'm sorry for the false alarm, there is acually no problem.
You're right, it is the parent article that is inserted into basket, not 
the localised one. It is also the parent article that is inserted into 
order ; and it is still parent article that is handled by stock.

So the stock is indeed being localised, but the localised stock is never 
used, so there is no problem with it.

Sorry about that, I should probably sleep more...
