Hi

Check my thread "How to change default image sizes?".
As far as I understand, this cannot work because the settings under lib.
are COPIED into the plugin. settings.
When you alter the size in lib. with your extension template, it's too late.
These settings are already copied into the plugin. settings.
Overwriting them in plugin. works fine for me.

Paul Hansen suggested, that it might work, if the settings from lib. are
not copied to plugin. but rather referenced (using TypoScript operator =<
instead of <).
I didn't try it because changing the setup.txt code is not an alternative 
for
me (changes are lost when updating the extension...)

I also think that there's a bug in teaserimage settings in the current SVN
version of the static TS Setup.
You find my working TS Code also in the mentioned post...
