yes, but why? Online docs are available, they can be read online and 
updated from there. The ext only search for installed extensions and 
update from there.

yes i know, it's the wizard called. But in this case it could be used in 
a frame instead of popup.

ah - i will compare it with linux as i checked it on windows only (local)
