Klaus I agree with you 100% that actually all developers - also those of
the extensions you use should be honored by leaving their credentials
inside their extensions - you could write them into humans.txt, or perhaps
a typo3extension could collect all that data from extensions and core and
creating that humans.txt file.

I also agree with Dieter. We also insert ourself only if we ourself have
direct contact to our customer. But a very common usecase is outsourcing
here and if an Agency or even a single Developer outsources a Website
Development to us than he will appear in the headercomment with his
credentials but usually those header comments won't be empty!

This helps actually a lot. With those informations you can contact the
Developer who outsourced to us in case another agency which is NOT
mentioned in that headercomment states that they have done those websites.

If you contact the developer/agency who is mentioned in the website it is
up to them if they let you know that somebody else has done their site or
not. We had until now actually very good experience with contacting those
mentioned in the headercomments - It brought us even some new customers too
by the way.
