Hey Ruud,

I've have no experience with installing TYPO3 on a Max. But TYPO3 basically works on every webserver with PHP, so it should work with MAMP as well. 

- Download one of the demo packages (http://demo.typo3.org/, I prefer the Bootstrap version)
- Unpack it somewhere in a www-folder (there is the part where I do not know the Mac)
- Configure the webserver  (another part where I do not know how the Mac works)
- Browse to http://[your-local-url]/typo3/install

Now, probably the tricky part is that you're a designer, not a programmer. To help you further you should explain what you already tried and where you got stuck.

At the bottom of https://typo3.org/download/ you also find a ready-to-go installer for the Max.
