[TYPO3-install] Problem: Could not connect to SQL database!

If:
      IMPORTANT: THE MYSQL SERVER IS NOT INSTALLED LOCALLY.

is true, then you'd have to change the connect.php to make sure it's pointing to 
the correct host.

Else -- check permissions, a lot of your directory is owned by Root (user and group)
