Hello everyone!

I am Ananth Bhat, a 3rd year undergraduate student in Computer Science from
Bangalore, India.

I've always been fascinated with the open source world and have longed to
contribute to the same and GSoc'13 seems like a wonderful platform to start
off. TYPO3 project's mission, “Jointly Innovate Excellent Free Software
Enabling People to Communicate” greatly impressed me, and being involved in
web development, I can genuinely appreciate the CMS.

The sheer number of total installations of TYPO3 itself are impressive, and
equally impressive is the feature set and the extent of control that is
provided to the TYPO3 users. This has motivated me to want to contribute to
an already successful project in attempt of making it even better.

The project "TYPO3shell" has caught my eye. I request you to guide me with
the project idea that I'm interested in and help me with other processes to
get started with TYPO3 in general, such as, setting up the IDE. What are
the first things I should know?

A little bit about myself:
I'm an avid programmer and I'm familiar with C,C++,Java,Python,HTML5,MySQL
and app development on Android and Windows platforms. I'm also familiar
with the basic and popular UNIX APIs and command line tools.

So far, I have contributed to the development of the college fest's website
and a department fest's web site, which now also serves as a student info
portal as well as an online forum for academic discussions.

I have not had the opportunity to make any open source contribution so far
so I'm looking forward to hopefully, getting started with the open source
community with TYPO3.
Best Regards
