[TYPO3-GSoC] Results???

Hey,

as far as i know, all students passed except one of them (just heard some rumors about that at DevDays'11 at Sursee) who quit his project right after the starting shot. I guess it was exactly the aforementioned "User Admin Module" project.

Being the one who experimented with an XSLT/PHP-based transformation of v4 content to v5-compatible content structures (TYPO3 Transition Tool) i can conclude that this way of transition (sysext:impexp => XSLT/PHP transformation => v5 XML) would be feasible and worthwhile since it would allow the non-PHP-programmer to "throw in a few XSLT snippets" and get an according XML data structure out of it. Until now, the v4-extension has a rough prototypical status though i'm very willing to improve it whenever the Phoenix content model is ready for take-off (which it wasn't until the end of GSoC). As far as i can report from my project, the contact with Christian Müller was quite good since we got a weekly meeting rhythm as well as some "digging deeper" discussions at Sursee.

In the end of the GSoC term i sent some summarizing paragraph to Ingo and Karsten who, maybe due to the release trouble with T3v4.6 and F3v1.0, kinda got the GSoC stuff off their radar, i'd guess. No problem after all, we just need to gather up the loosen threads. If you need someone who picks up the given summaries and writes a framing text for GSoC11, i'd do that.

Best regards!
Ciao Nico

While talking to people/mentors from other organizations i had some ideas how to improve our next years summer of code. I already started to write a blog article about that. Hope to finish it in the next days.
