Schreibfehler und RTFM :-)

es ist natürlich lib.footerNews.templateFile = pfad/datei.html

Das mit den Kategorien war auch einfach:

lib.footerNews {
   categoryMode = 1
   categorySelection = 23,34
}

stand wohl aufm Schlauch :-)
