[TYPO3-english] executing SQL and returning results to a new window

Because I have already tried a couple of alternatives, I'd like to ask a quick question before I commit to installing TYPO3 at my Swiss hosting service Hoststar. The web site I'm developing will provide beer lovers like us, a list of places here, where they can buy a decent quality beer, Swiss or international. It's a non profit development project for a couple of out of work ex pats.

I will have a background database of beers, from various countries, at various locations in Switzerland. Ideally the user can select those from several drop down menus and when he hits the button, the SQL we generate selects them, and produces the output  list in a window.
The background coding is the easy part. Generating an SQL based on the selection should be also, but executing it and returning a new screen?
 
II've tried hoststars designer tool, and that was no good for our purposes. Wordpress was too blog orientated, which was not what we intended, and the serious support was non existent when we had various issues. Hoststar has various installable CMS, of which TYPO3 and Joomla have a 5 star rating, although Joomlas requirements are moderate, TYPO3s are *serious".

I'm sure you'd recommend TYPO3, but does it have the extensions that would suit our needs? Alll mentoring greatly received.
