[TYPO3-english] Start Page-tree with link or with content page

thats the reason why i often use a root-Page without content. But the use of shortcut has a drawback: if you type www.domain.tld the shortcut jumps right to www.domain.tld/yourhomepage.html which is really disliked by many seo guys :-) They argue with duplicate content … If you use the root page as homepage you will remain on domain.tld. 

It is sometimes more difficult to divide between homepage and subpages because the typoscript of the homepage inherits to all subpages. So one has to use conditions for this job. 

In oder to get a menu link to the homepage i sometimes use this: 

root (with content)
   |_ home (shortcut to root)
