[TYPO3-english] 404 error page

I have followed this guide right here: "http://typo3.org/documentation/article/improved-404-handling/" but i can't make this work...

Here it is a printscreen from my website tree (like said in this guide, i placed the 404 page in the root) : http://i.imgur.com/cLNlC4I.png

I also have defined "[pageNotFound_handling]" in "Install" -> "All configuration" to "/404".

However, the error that is showed when the user tries to access a non-existant page is still the default message "Page Not Found!".

I have CoolURI installed, maybe is this extension that is causing this problems?
