[TYPO3-english] Pictures not displayed

I uploaded three pictures during creating the object.
There I used spaces in the file name. I thought that might be the reason
why the pictures are not displayed and replaced all spaces with _  but
even then the pictures are not displayed.

Digging into the apache log file I found:

[Fri Jan 04 06:30:56 2013] [error] [client 111.1.1.232] client denied by
server configuration:
/var/www/mysite.info/fileadmin/_temp_/What_is_the_aaa.jpg, referer:
http://mysite.info/home/

I checked the file structure:

Order deny,allow
Deny from all



How should it be done???????????



To get something achieved today I have moved the pictures into the
directory /fileadmin/content_uploads
I tried again to add the pictures and they are too large. There is no
trick I could figure out to get these pictures sized to fit into the
space I want it.
It seems that Appearance - Image Adjustments Width (px) = 500 has no
influence.


How should it be done???????????
