I have not much knowledge about JS, but go ahead, prepare a demo in a 
sandbox or on github and show us a rough draft.

This might be a project for 6.1 if you can find some supporters. Maybe you 
can even organize a code spring about backend JS. There is much more stuff 
to do if we want to integrate jQuery and this would be a nice framing topic 
for such a sprint.
