[TYPO3-english] tt_news imageMarkerOptionSplit: how to make it work?

Hello

I need some help with tt_news 3.0.1 on Typo3 4.3.1:

I'd want to use the SINGLE2 tt_news template to show a detail page with a  
maximum of 2 images,
so I selected it in the plugin configuration flexform and I've added the  
following TS Setup to my EXT template:

plugin.tt_news.displaySingle.imageMarkerOptionSplit = 1|*|2

but...no image is shown at all!

Please,could someone help me? What's wrong?
