[TYPO3-english] Pproblems getting typo3 running at one.com's server

These are questions that I'm not quite sure of. But I do think that it is
php version 5 and it is a linux server, but I not quite sure of the os. At
my computer it is Windows XP pro.

I think I'll try to start from the beginning again, but it is the 3. time,
and earlier trials haven't bin successful.

But just downloaded the version of typo3 you suggested, and will now try to
upload it to the providers server, and then I do hope for more success this
time.

First: you should install lastest version, i.e. 4.2.12 of old stable 
(http://typo3.org/download/packages/)

Second: IF you have to install version 4.2.6: line 4838  of 
class.tx_install.php should read like this:

charset='.($GLOBALS['TYPO3_CONF_VARS']['BE']['forceCharset']?$GLOBALS['TYPO3

If it does, check typo3conf/localconf.php if there is a value set either 
for $GLOBALS['TYPO3_CONF_VARS']['BE']['forceCharset'] or for 
$TYPO3_CONF_VARS['BE']['forceCharset'] and it's content.

Which php version is running on the server, which os?
