There's a lot of work to make this working. And I'm not sure someone
really has time to do this. I don't know but nobody is able to get
feedback from the maintainer of the mailing list and there are lots of
patch to be applied to TYPO3 itself and that are waiting for approval.

The question is to know what really matters for now and personally TYPO3
is what I want to be improved, not the mailing list/news server that
just works fine with a newsreader.

I know there's a problem with the mailing list, and I know it should be
fixed and I agree but I think that if someone really needs a forum, he
should make a proof of concept of a forum with synchronization of the
mailing list info and then we could make it public. There's simply too
much to do with TYPO3 when not paid for it to take extra work on, be
honest, would-be-nice-to-have.
