[TYPO3-english] realURL and 404 ... :-(

Hi all,

I am using T3 4.2.1 and realURL 1.1.0 ( these versions are not 
negotiable)...
;-)
When I am calling an url which is no more active I get the following error:
Reason: Segment "auto" was not a keyword for a postVarSet as expected!

How can I achieve that real URL will go up rootline as long until T3 found a 
valid page.
Or is there anotherpossibility to tell T3 to go to startpage if no valid 
page was found.

Any suggestions or hints on that?
