[TYPO3] import extensions does not work

Hi Cate&Peter
Finally managed:
- increased memory-limit
- deleted all tmp files in config and temp directory
- deleted extension.bin and extensions.xml.gz (as advised by Ries van twist)
after a few attempts the extension list was updated,
