[TYPO3] user table to html table

Hello,

I have a table called 'user_cds' with fields 'name'|'msg'. I want to 
generate a html table with the records of that table.

I have read something about "RECORDS", but I can't manage to get it 
working. I also don't know how to 'connect' to the main content element 
(TemplaVoila) of the page as the 'Editing Type' is not set to 
'TypoScript Object Path'.

Can you guys point me to an example?

(I've found an extension, but I want it in TypoScript, if possible of 
course)
