Well - I didn't find the time for diving during the last few years but I was
lucky to make the diving license during my honeymoon at the Maledives 1994.

Best price-performance ratio will be Egypt and the Red Sea.
On top of my "places I always wanted to visit" list are the Cape Verde
Islands.
Maybe the Maledives could be an option too, if we take over a whole island
in the low season but usually flights are too expensive.

But we should keep in mind that we might need some technical infrastructure
for nerding too.
So Europe might be the better choice if you don't want to pay direct
satellite connections ;-)
