At some respects tinyrte is better than htmlarea
and I dont't have found problems using CSS for the editor.
Tinyrte renders the editor view on the base of the defined style sheet.
Because frontend has some extra classes editor shows just basic styles.

Better in tinyrte
* table options works without thinking which versions of editor it 
needed for
* nicer pop-up-windows
* better layout control and better layout overall

But it has nasty bug in typo3link - redefinig of links work only for 
internal links. Without a fix problems also with typo3image,
which was easy to fix. Fixed and with some language support tinyrte
from

if you install also tm_contentaccess and skin_grey_2
you get fully consistent layout - editor is not then
as if extra part of the BE but full-integrated natural
part of the BE interface.
