[TYPO3] development of eu_subscribe?

Hi!
I would like to know, whether eu_subscribe gets improved? Currently the
cron job only returns errors, and the setting page is not configurable.
Plus: It does not take care about setting 'hidden pages' or only visible
to logged in users.. eu_subscribe just shows __every__ page...

If there is no further development.. .. is there any ext, that can do
the same? (let FE users choose to get informed, if a page is updated..)
