[TYPO3] Main domain page is blank

I looked at a fresh local installation of typo3, in WINDOWS. I did not 
see a index.html file in the root....so i deleted it from the root of 
www.netwargamingitalia.net and now all went ok only if i call: 
http://netwargamingitalia.net

I remember i add some index.html for security reason but i don't 
remember if i added it in the root too.
So my question is: Should that index.html be there, in the root of the 
site ?
